A productive supplier conversation goes beyond price. It should help a buyer understand how requirements will be translated into sourcing, preparation and shipment decisions.
Ask how the specification will be controlled
Discuss where the product is sourced, how samples are linked to commercial lots, which checks are performed and how exceptions are communicated.
Understand capacity and communication
Ask about realistic lead times, packing options and shipment updates. A credible answer should distinguish confirmed capacity from an estimate and identify the person responsible for progress reporting.
These questions do not replace due diligence, but they create a clearer foundation for it.
